My Story
Hi I'm Brittany, lets get to know each other better!
I am the owner and lead on site artist of BM hair and Makeup Design. I have been in the beauty industry for over 17 years as a licensed hair stylist & makeup artist. I started working at a makeup counter while going to college for a degree in business but soon found my passion for the beauty industry and decided to enroll at Pivot Point International Academy for Cosmetology. Right out of Cosmetology school I started working at a hair salon but was not able to do what I really loved so getting my dream job doing makeup at CSN Chicago gave me the opportunity to create my own freelancing brand full time. I created BM Hair & Makeup design to focus on want I love most and to give each one of my clients the total glam experience in the comfort of your own home. I love all things hair, makeup and wedding so I am so excited for the opportunity to be part of the most exciting day of your life!
Once you check out my portfolio you will see that I am all about less is more and enhancing every person’s natural beauty with a softer glam but don't think I don't love a smokey eye and fierce lips. I am a glam obsessed, laid-back mama of 2 energetic boys, so I have nailed a 5-minute makeup application.
I wanted to give all of my clients the convenience and peace of mind so I am an on-site hair/make-up artist and I will travel to YOU! For larger jobs I have some AMAZING artists I bring along when help is needed. Whether you have a picture of a look you love or are letting me do my thing YOU are always in great hands. I can re-create any look seen from Instagram to the runway. I am trained in Airbrush makeup & tanning, hair extensions, hair styling and Hi Def makeup applications. My portfolio ranges from every day beauty, bridal, print and commercial to TV. You have seen my work on CSN Chicago, 120 Sports and Chicago’s new hit renovation show Downtown Shabby.
I believe that everyone wants to look & feel glamorous & one's view of glamorous can vary from the next. That is why I am here, doing what I love. I take pride in every ounce of makeup applied, every color and technique used, and every bit of my imagination shown through in my work.

TRADITIONAL MAKEUP APPLICATION
Traditional Makeup is a mix of liquids, creams and powders applied to the skin with a brush or sponge. This makeup is typically not waterproof, and unlike airbrush makeup will rub off on clothing and will need the occasional touch ups throughout the evening. The final finish can rage from light to full coverage, matte or dewy and may appear a bit heavier on the skin. I love traditional makeup when I want to play up the drama!
AIRBRUSH MAKEUP APPLICATION
Airbrush foundation is a light-weight makeup applied through an air gun machine that produces a thin, even layer of makeup and creates a very matte finish. This application allows your true skin tone to show through which creates a more natural look instead of looking caked on. It will not transfer onto clothing and looks AMAZING in professional photos! BEST PART: Airbrush makeup is waterproof so bring on those tears! Be sure you don’t wipe away sweat/tears and instead ‘blot’ for a guaranteed 18-hour wear.
